Registration via e-mailThe D-A-CH meet-up will take place from 18th to 22nd. September (5 paddling days).
Planned official start is 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18th.
An early arrival the evening before is of course possible and welcome ;) . This gives you the opportunity to make your first contacts and get to know each other the evening before. It should be mentioned that the Ötz Trophy also takes place during this period and offers us the great opportunity to watch the professionals on the Wellerbrücke.
If there are enough participants, there is also the possibility of a WRT course in cooperation with Packraft Europe in the run-up to the event to be completed. If you are interested, please contact us.
The official end of the event is on the evening of September 22nd, another overnight stay is also possible here without any problems.
There is also a WRT course in the run-up to the event planned in cooperation with Los Leones.
The cozy campsite Riffler is in a prime location in Landeck, Tyrol and is therefore very easy to reach from DE, AT and CH (note toll roads). Auch der Bahnhof Landeck ist fußläufig zu erreichen, somit kann auch eine Anreise mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln erfolgen. There are also supermarkets and several restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the campsite.
The Sanna (9km WW3-4), which can usually be paddled all year round, flows directly past the campsite and the exit of the section is approx. 100m below the campsite at the mouth of the Inn. Other great paddling rivers (WW2-4) are located in the vicinity of Landeck and can sometimes even be reached by public transport.
For information on facilities and accommodation prices (to be paid by each participant) please visit the website of Camping Riffler directly.
As we already have a pre-registration at the campsite exclusively for the Packraft Meet-up (huge thanks to Lorenz, who ), no direct reservation via the campsite is necessary.

EVERYONE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY!
This event is organized as a meeting of whitewater sports enthusiasts and is not a guided course.
In the group, we want to learn from each other, work together as a good, strong team on the river and thus make the meet-up as safe as possible. We ask all participants to familiarize themselves with the following topics before the meet-up:
-Line of sight
-River signals
-Priorities in a rescue
-Local emergency numbers
Of course, we will hold a short safety briefing before each trip. We ask all experienced paddlers to actively contribute to the topic of safety and, true to the motto SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE, to make the meet-up even better and safer.
Landeck is virtually surrounded by medium-difficult whitewater streams and rivers with very different characters. Depending on the water level, the paddling sections can be adapted and tailored to the groups. This gives us a perfect starting point to avoid being dependent on rainfall, as some sections run all year round or are regulated by a power station and can always be paddled at certain times.
Here is a brief overview of the sections. You are welcome to use our River descriptions or our YouTube channel, to give you an idea of the paddling sections:
Sanna WW3-4/9km
- brilliant, year-round stream directly at the campsite
- mostly medium volume 10-25m³
- can be reached very easily by bus every hour
Inn WW2-4/various sections can be paddled
- demanding, technical stream in the upper sections
-Power plant regulated
- the Imst gorge in the lower stretch is a powerful classic with a lot of volume
Rosanna WW2-4/10km
- partly technical and increasingly difficult towards the end
-Good, constant gradient
-Only worthwhile at higher water levels
Trisanna WW2-3+/14km
-beautiful scenery, although partly straightened
-possibly iron in the stream
-rewarding key sections and plenty of opportunity to play
-Impassable weir at See
-Only worthwhile at higher levels
Ötz WW3-5/several sections
- Often powerful lower section with steep gradient
- Possibility to visit the world-famous Weller bridge section
- Various difficult sections in the upper valley (see also Venter Ache)
- Onward journey on the Imst gorge possible
Brandenberger Ache WW2-4/ two paddleable sections
- one of the most scenic rivers in the Alps
- best combined with a hike
- moderately difficult gorge sections
-Two difficult key passages
Venter Ache WW3-4+
- blocked with a steep gradient
- Gorge sections
- Can only be paddled at higher levels
We are planning four days of paddling together and evenings together at the cozy campsite starting on 18. 09. 2024 at 0900 hrs. We meet in the morning and plan the paddling day depending on the weather and water levels. On the first day we plan to raft the Inn (Imster Schlucht WW2-3). Depending on the weather and water level, you can even start directly from the campsite.
This section is suitable for paddling and getting to know each other, even in slightly larger groups.
In the afternoons/evenings, we are happy to offer workshops (led by volunteers) without obligation or simply sit together in a convivial atmosphere. p>
If you would like to lead and offer a workshop, please get in touch with us! p>
On Saturday, the final races of the Ötz Trophy will take place, a wonderful opportunity to watch the pros on the world-famous Weller Bridge.
For a little foretaste, here is a small selection of videos from previous years
In the run-up to the event, a WRT course is also planned in cooperation with Los Leones, should the number of participants be reached.
Late fall in Landeck is often an alpine weather wonderland. We expect everything between heavy snowfall and golden autumn day at 20°C. Please adapt your equipment to the conditions and the weather forecast and always plan for the worst case scenario because ->
One thing is certain: the nights are cold, the rivers are icy cold and the probability of going through the event without rain is very low! The good news: Camping Riffler has excellent hot showers and a warm room, as well as shelter facilities.
The event is non-commercial and organized by volunteers! Participation does not require any fee. The costs for travel and accommodation at Camping Riffler must be borne by the participants themselves. We ask each participant to make a donation of their choice to „WET – Wildwasser erhalten Tirol“and hope for active support for the non-profit association.
For organizational reasons, we reserve the right to limit the event to a maximum number of 40 participants on a first come - first serve basis. If you want to participate and are sure to fulfill all requirements, please register by email with the following details/proof:
-Name
-Address
-Contact info
-Arrival date
-planned type of accommodation (car/camper/tent)
-Proof of donation to WET Tirol (see River Conservation)
We look forward to seeing you there!
